Dan Welch has treated anglers to some exciting lure fishing trips on Ilfracombes latest charter boat Predator 2. Good numbers of colourful wrasse and pollock have put welcome bends into anglers rods over the calm settled weather leading up to Easter. The summer Boat fishing season is in full swing out of Ilfracombe with a wide range of species putting a bend in anglers rods. It has been encouraging to hear of some good catches of mackerel so far this season.

Anglers fishing off Ilfracombe aboard John Barbeary’s ‘Bluefin’ are still catching tope which is no surprise as these predators hunt the Bristol Channel at this time of year for herring and flatfish often moving close inshore.
