Aaron Bunning fished overnight session at Upper Tamar Lake between work and had this report for us: ‘I had a 31lb common and 19lb 8oz mirror, part of a 4 fish catch I had sunday night. All fish fell to Nashbait Citruz pop ups over Scopex Squid. I am over the moon to have now had a 30+ common and mirror from Upper Tamar!’

Simon Bennett and Bob Davey have remarkably caught the same common from Upper Tamar this week. Bob was the first to catch it from the Lookout Tower and it weighed 29lbs and Simon has landed it this morning from the end of the Bradworthy Arm and this time it weighed 29lb 4oz. a toffee boilie on a Ronnie rig did the trick for Simon.

Upper Tamar Carp are on the feed

(Above)Ryan Willshire from Bude landed this cracking 21lb 4oz scaley Mirror carp from Upper Tamar lake, near Bude on the Cornwall and Devon border. The fish was stocked in September 2017 as part of the lakes re-stocking policy which included 3 fish over 30lbs and lots of fish over 20lbs. The next stocking is in mid October this year.

(Above) Ashley Bunning had a great session on Upper Tamar Lake, on the Cornwall and Devon border. The venue regular banked 8 carp in his 48 hour session including 2 fish over 20lbs. All the fish were caught on Nashbait scopex squid boilies with the largest being a 22lb 8oz mirror.

A few “thanks”…

Many thanks to Ben and the S.W.L.T staff (Bob the boatman & Gary) without them there would not be a festival.

Thanks to Sensas UK & M5 Angling for sponsoring fantastic Sensas prizes Simon Hebditch I will be in touch ref next year!!

Thank you to Steven Lipsy Hughes for keeping us all entertained one way or another over the three days, thanks also for doing a “whip round” for me, feeling humbled as a result mate – your really shouldn’t have, but thank you.

Roger Maher has been getting stuck into some of the new stock in Upper Tamar Lake Roger has landed three of the new fish which were stocked a month ago and they are doing well and looking great. A 19.06 pale looking fish which was stocked at 19.04 and a chunky mirror of 24.04 which was stocked at 22.12. Roger’s third new fish was one of the commons at 23.14 which was stocked at 23.04. Roger topped it all off with an original common golden coloured common of 19.06. Great work Roger!
