Stafford Moor May Festival 2018 – Report from Joanne Combes

Our Worthy winner of our May festival 2018 with a perfect score of 4 points with a total weight of 434lb 13oz is Mr Steve Ford (MOSELLA UK / MARUKYU well done Steve well proud of you !!! In close second place with also 4 points and a total weight of 327lb 14oz is Chris Cameron ( MIDDY/ BAIT TECH) well done Chris! In third place was Ian Rowney with 6 points and a total weight of 375lb 1oz well done Ian! What a week, thank you so much for your continued support it’s amazing we feel truly blessed to have you all supporting us thank you so much also for supporting the JO-OP it’s been one of the best supported weeks we have had , I can continue to buy new stock all the time we are supported so thank you been great to meet some new guys and to see the regular faces. Some stunning catches of carp from Stafford Moor

(Above) Karl Hutchings and friend Edward Cochran who fished up on the inlet swim on Beatties lake they had 10 fish out up to 28lb fishing with Sticky baits white Manilla pop ups (Edward had a new pb of 28lb )

(Above) Matt Everill caught 5 fish up to 22lb 5oz on the dam wall of lodge lake fishing with Nash scopes boilies in a 48 hour session.

(Above) Darren Rundle landed 3 fish in a day session on swim 3 up on lodge lake fishing with Sticky Baits Manilla 16mm boilies.

(Above) Joe Slater banked 5 fish up to 29lb from the summer house swim on Beatties lake. Joe was fishing with Sticky baits Manilla 16mm boilies and spodded hemp and Manilla pellets combined.

(Above)Mark Downing and Dave Dymond’s haul of 41 fish in a 48 hour session on Beatties lake, Mark fished with Dave on the summer hut swim then Dave had a session on the inlet swim all caught on Sticky Baits Manilla bodies and Uberbaits.

Jamie Everard fished Stafford Moor with his friend Ben Drew , fishing on swim 3 (small island ) on the Dam wall of Beatties Lake, Jamie had 5 fish off the surface with floating pellets.

Stafford Moor Open – Junior Angler Success

An Open match on Tanners and Woodpecker lakes. Had a full house of 40 anglers.

The weather was a horrible cold easterly wind with temperatures around 8 degrees today where is Spring !

Had a continental payout. Top weight of the day was from Ben Benjamin Broxson peg 19 on Tanners lake with 167lb 14oz fishing bomb and pellet and pole well done Ben ! In second place was Andy Dare peg 11 on woodpecker lake with 101lb 4oz, in third place was Chris Davis with 107lb 5oz from peg 2 on Tanners lake.

Its always great to see young anglers enjoying success as 13 year old Owen Newman did in this competition finishing a very creditable sixth and winning the silvers bag!

Stafford Moor Latest – Catches

(Above) Dylan Cockram and friend Seb Taylor fished up on swim 13 on Lodge Lake fishing with A1 baits banoffee burst pop up and washed out pink, they had 8 fish out up to 24lb 4oz.

(Above)Andrew Levett fished with son Thomas age 5. Thomas caught this 26lb 2oz beauty not dad it was son Thomas’s rod we joked that Thomas needs to stay at home next time. Caught from big fish corner on Beatties lake fishing with Nash Tangerine dream 10mm pop up.

Stafford Moor – In Top Form Latest Update

Its been a busy week at Stafford Moor whilst I have been away on holiday in Scotland!

Barry Taylor a scaffolder from Newton Abbot had 17 fish out up to 27lb from the inlet swim on Beatties lake fishing with mainline cell boilies but sadly Jo has no pictures of this fine haul.

(Above)Pete Chapman and Mandy Chapman had five carp from swim 4 on lodge lake fishing with Sticky baits Buchenberry pop ups and signature pop ups plus Pallatrax jungle.

(Above )Pete Honeybourne banked eight carp up to 21lb 1oz from the inlet swim on beatties lake all caught on Mainline Cell 15mm boilies.

(Above) Nik Slater fished on Lodge Lakes swim 3 and had 6 carp fishing with sticky baits krill boilies and spicy squid power smoke.

(Above) Woodrow Van Koutrik aged 14 who comes fishing with his dad Andrew who had 4 fish during an evening session on Beatties lake on the summer hut swim on Beatties lake fishing with Sticky baits Manilla boilies,

(Above) Ash Graham & friend Ben who popped out to visit a relative fishing up on lodge lake and ended up stalking for only a few hours and had 7 fish out up to 20lb on 10mm yellow pop ups.
(Above) Mark Downing and his friend Dave Dymond banked 28 fish from lodge lake during a weekend session ! Mark fished on swim 6 then moved to swim 2 , Dave fished on swim 4 they caught on Uberbait and Sticky baits Manilla boilies.

(Above) Tony Johns was with his friend Andy Byrne they had 3 fish out up to 18lb 1oz from the beach swim on Beatties Lake caught on Mainline Cell & Sticky Baits Manilla pop ups.

(Above) Harry Collins aka ‘Haribo’ banked 2 fish in 24 hours up on Lodge lake. Harry was on swim 3 then moved to swim 5 the fish pictured was 24lb 6oz and tempted on Sticky Baits Manilla boilies.

(Above) Some regular Stafford Moor anglers who had a carp social here on Beatties lake with 11 guys fishing. The winner of their competition was Dean Willoughby who smashed it with 20 fish caught up to 28lb Deans total weigh of fish was 355lb from the inlet swim fishing with Cornwall baits special occasion.
They all had a great weekend despite rough weather that seemed to stimulate the carp!

Stafford Moor Carp

Adam Atkins and dad John Atkins fished the beach swim on Beatties lake at Stafford Moor. They had 9 fish out up to 21lb including a double take using mainline cell 15mm boilies.

(Below) Ian Yan Lawrence who had 2 fish out up to 22lb 6oz from swim 14 up on lodge lake in a day session on Saturday fishing with Mainline cell Walters over a bed of pellet /hemp boilies and corn.

Stafford Open Result

The latest match results at Stafford Moor show that the carp are now feeding hard as temperatures start to climb.

Dave Stockton took top spot in the Latest Stafford Moor Open bagging a creditable 222lb 3oz from Tanners Lake using pellet waggler tactics. Andy Dare was runner up with159lb 2oz and Robert Coombs third with 132lb 2oz.

Fine Carp Catch from Lodge Lake
