Stafford Moor May Festival

Friday 17th May was the final of our May Festival 2019, what a fabulous week it had been. The weights were great all week and all the competitors said what a great week they had at the Moor. The weather was kind all week except  for Friday when there was some rain but not enough to dampen spirits.  The  festival ran from Monday 13th  until Friday 17th May.

The worthy winner was Gareth Lennox (Stafford Moor) who won with just 5 points and a total weight of 435lb 3oz.
Gareth had 2 points on Monday , 1 point on Tuesday, 1 point on Wednesday, 2 points on Thursday and 1 point on Friday so with his dropper of 2 points Gareth ending up scoring just 5 points. Gareth mainly fished worms over pellet all week.

In second place with a total weight of 429lb 2oz with 6 points was Damien Green

In third place with a total weight of 415lb 11oz with 6 points is Chris Cameron ( bait tech / middy)

Capturing the perfect Image at Stafford Moor

(Below)Rich Powell and Andy  fished on the beach swim on Beatties Lake and banked 27 fish in an incredible session.  Rich has a new personal best of 32lb 4oz and  Andy has a new personal best of 26lb 2oz all caught on Sticky Baits Krill Walters and tuff ones.

(Below)Steve Stutt and brother Craig  had 6 fish out from the beach swim on Beatties Lake up to 28lb 12oz by Steve all caught on Mainline essential cell pop ups in between the 2 islands  13.5 wraps.

Stafford Moor Fine Carp Catches in the first week of May

Below are just a few of the carp banked by anglers fishing the ever prolific Stafford Moor in the past week.

(Below)Wayne Grinney  fished on the beach swim on Beatties lake with Matt McCarthy and had 12 fish out between them caught on home made boilies and house pellet.

(Below)  Nicholas Billet fished on theback bays on Beatties lake to bank 8 fish  including a fab common and ghostie all caught on Sticky Baits Krill boilies.

(Below)James Richard Russell who fished  with friend Colin on the summer hut swim on Beatties lake and had 9 fish out caught on Sticky Baits Krill & Occy.

(Below) Brandon and his dad Barry King  had a couple of fish out from the summer hut swim on Beatties lake, Brandon was using Nash strawberry crush pop ups on a Ronnie rig and dad was using Sticky Baits Manilla on a hair rig.

( Below) Bruce Julian who fished for 3 nights & had 25 fish out from the inlet swim on Beatties lake. Bruce caught his fish on Mainline cell, Tutti frutti & Krill boilies.

(Below)Callum Gardiner fished on the inlet swim on Beatties lake and had 11 fish out up to 26lb 9oz all caught on Cc Moore live system boilies.

Stafford Moor Match Report

Match Report from Jo Combes at the prolific Stafford Moor.

Hi all had our open match here at Stafford Moor on Tanners and Woodpecker lakes today. Had a Continental payout.

Glorious day of sunshine except for that cold chill in the air today alright if you on the sunny side of the bank.

Our top weight of the day was from Paul Morris Who bagged himself 173lb 8oz from peg 1 on Tanners fishing 8mm pellet on the deck at 13mtrs.

In second place with 148lb 1oz was Phil Hardwick peg 5 on Woodpecker.

In third place with 129lb 14oz was Martin Heard (MOSELLA UK) from peg 20 Tanners.

In forth place with 139lb 6oz was Mark Layzell peg 8 on Woodpecker.

In 5th place with 92lb 2oz was Mark Hayman peg 15 Tanners.

In 6th place with 131lb 12oz was Dave Stockton peg 17 on Woodpecker.

Section winners: Tanners was Rich Dennis peg with 69lb 7oz

Golden Carp at Stafford Moor

Scott Whittington fished at Stafford Moor with his son Thomas. Scott’s fish were all from the summer hut swim on Beatties lake in which he caught 34 fish up to 28lb 12oz caught on Sticky Baits Krill boilies well done Scott ! This stunning common shown below weighed 25lb.

Thomas caught a good number of fish from Tanners Lake.

Recent Stafford Moor – Carp Action

Gareth Simpson had 5 fish out from the beach swim on Beatties lake this weekend, Gareth caught on Bait works Atlantic heat boilies.

(Below)Lewis Wheeler with Selina, Lloyd, squib & Hettie. They had 9 fish out caught on suid pop ups, Mainline essential cell & outrageous orange goo on swims 3 small island, 4 big fish corner & 5 lord island on Beatties lake.

(Below) Callum Gardiner & Dad & Charlie Bell who had 17 fish out from swim 8 (fraggle rock) on lodge lake all caught on pink pop ups over Sticky Baits Manilla boilies & hemp.

(Below) Adam Barnett and friend Lewis  had 7 fish out on swim 14 (beach 1) on lodge lake this weekend all caught on Sticky Baits Manilla & Krill boilies.

Bumper hauls at a Sunny Stafford Moor

(Below) Mitch Andow and friend Charlie had 40 fish from swim 12  on lodge lake in a 48 hour session this weekend. All fish caught on DNA Baits pb and pink peril pop ups over scattered DNA boilies fishing tight to the margins towards swim 11 again caught in the more shallow water.

Nicholas Billett  fished up on Albert square swim 15 on lodge lake this weekend and had 16 fish  up to 24lb all caught on Krill pop ups Nick said was it was a bit slow at first then then didn’t stop!!

Carp a plenty at Stafford Moor

(Below) Archie and  his dad Simon Tregido  had five carp four to the rod  young Archie all the  fish we’re caught on Mainline response tutti fruity boilies

  (Below) Wade Peanutt Holmes  had five  carp on swim 15 ( Albert square ) up on lodge lake all caught on Sticky Baits Manilla dumbbells.

(Bellow)Tony Welch and friend Shaun who had 27 fish out up to 26lb in 24 hours!

(Below)Nigel Bassett who had 11 fish out up to 26lb 4oz from swim 2 ‘sunset swim’ up on lodge lake. All fish were caught on Sticky Baits Manilla boilies, hemp & corn. Nige was fishing tight to the far margins.

(Below) Daryl Honey who fished up on swim 14 on lodge lake with Aaron Dale and had 3 fish out smashing his pb twice! with a 16lb 8oz then a 19lb 4oz to follow caught on Sticky Baits Manilla dumbbells.
