Big Weights at Stafford Moor Open

1st Open match today on Tanners and Woodpeckerswith 41 fishing and a continental payout.

Weather was glorious sunshine all day.

 Winner of the day with 186lb 15oz from peg 10 On Woodpecker Was  Dave Downton ! Fishing shallow on the pole

In second place with a weight of 154lb 10oz From peg 19 on Tanners lake was Richard James.

In third place with a weight of 163lb 10oz from peg 9 on Woodpecker lake was Lee Werrett.

Most fish were caught today on Pole & wag shallow but some caught on the lead too.

Stafford Moor in fine Spring Form

Stafford Moor continues to produce some stunning carp each week, so many I struggle to keep up with reports. Jo sent me these highlights from the past week.

(Below) Oil Dietrich who had 10 fish out up to 26lb 8oz  from the inlet swim on Beatties lake this weekend all caught on red alert by crafty baits.

(Below) A fine fish from Lodge Lake, Lee Rowe banked three fish out up to 27lb  from the dam wall  with son Kaiden, all fish were caught out in the open water on baitworks  and Mainline spicy crab boilies.

(Below) A really stunning common caught by Nathan England who fished on the summer hut swim on Beatties lake weighing 20lb 8oz.

Plenty of Spring carp at Stafford Moor

(Below)Jack Griffith’s & Emma with their 6 catches from the beach swim on Beatties lake, Jack had a top weight of 26lb 13oz & Emma had 26lb 10oz caught on OCD baits.

(Below) Rich Powell and Andy who had 8 fish out between them on the Summer hut swim on Beatties lake this weekend, caught on Sticky Baits Krill, fishing out on the open water.

North Devon Match Group Summer League No 1 Stafford Moor Fishery .

Lakes, Oak and Woodpecker on the fantastic Stafford Moor complex were used for the 26 peg event, Venue specialist Paul Morris drew on peg 2 on Woodies and fished the near shelf with the pole and 8mm pellets his 30 fish catch was enough for victory over his neighbour Nathan Underwood on peg 20, who pushed him close fishing the waggler out to the boards on the island. Nathan also fished and fed 8mm’s for second spot .  Tom Downing sat on peg 17 on Woodies and finished just short of the 150lbs for 3rd spot fishing the long pole into the margins.  Bruce Hunt was top weight on Oak and 4th overall his 35 fish catch fell to pole fished paste on peg 13, Britney Shears was 2nd on Oak 17 and 5th overall corn on the pole tactics. Neilsen Jeffery took 6th spot on Oak 7 with a corn in the margins approach. Many thanks to Paul and Jo for their hospitality today.

Spring Time Carp at Stafford Moor

(Below) Adam Atkins  and his dad John banked 10 carp all caught on Sticky Baits Manila dumbbells n buchu-berry popups on the inlet swim on Beatties lake.

(Below) Darren Polden banked these two out from the beach swim on Beatties lake caught on Sticky Baits Manilla wafters.

(Below)Lewis Jones fished up on swim one on Lodge lake in a day session and had out this beauty only 17lbs but what a stunner ! Caught on Sticky Baits Manilla & Krill wafters.

Stafford Moor Carp catches

(Above) Lee Hayden fished with his  son Frank on Beatties lake and between them they banked six carp all caught on banoffee pop ups.

Stafford Moor Carp Latest Catches

Adam Atkins banked five carp up to 22lb 4oz from the Summer hut swim on Beatties lake all caught on Sticky Baits Manilla dumbbells and buchenberry pop ups.

(Below) Arron Fisher who fished on Lodge lake on the dam wall in wet/windy conditions they had eight fish out to a top weight for Arron was 25lb 8oz and Kev’s was 23lb 8oz all caught on CR1 Boilies, CR1 crumb , hemp & our house pellet.

(Below)Nick Stevens banked four fish out up to 26lb 1oz in a 24 hour session up on swim 2 on lodge lake all caught on Sticky Baits 20mm Krill boilies /cloudy Krill liquid with hemp & maize using pva bags.

(Below) Stephen Best  had six carp out up to 23lb from the inlet swim on Beatties lake in a 24 hour session all caught on Mainline toasted almond pop ups.

(Below) Jack Gattiker caught seven carp fish  from Albert Square swim 15 up on lodge lake all caught on home made boilies.

Shane McCune  fished up on swim 3 on lodge lake and had five carp out in a 24 hour session including his new personal best of 24lb 15oz all caught on DNA baits.

Stunning Carp in Spring Sunshine

Once again some stunning carp caught from Stafford Moor over the past week many looking extra good in that Spring Sunshine!

M J Luscombe who had banked four carp up to 24lb 4oz from the Dam wall  on lodge lake all caught on Mainline cell with white fake corn in a 24 hour session.

 

(Below) Sam Gratton and his new personal best of 23lb from the Summer hut swim on Beatties lake caught on Sticky Baits Krill boilies .

( Below) Martyn Green  fished on Lodge lake on swim 3. Martyn tempted 8 carp  in 24 hours up to 25lb 3oz which is Martyn’s new personal best all caught on Mainline Cell & Nash coconut Creem boilies.

(Below)   Neil Harvey  fished up on swim 4 on the Dam wall on lodge lake this weekend. Neil had 5 fish out up to 23lb all caught on Mad Baits nutz aqua scrim & black gold liquid with lashings of corn.

(Below) Adrian Stockton  had eight carp fish out from swim 4 on the Dam wall up on lodge lake up to 25lb 10oz (4 of Ade’s fish were 20lb plus) all caught on Sticky Baits Manilla boilies.
