B.D.A.C. 4TH ROD AND REEL MATCH RESULTS SUMMER LEAGUE DATE 23.7.23
10 Anglers fished the match today and the weather turned out to be quite a nice. All anglers caught fish with the fishing being slow at times for some, first place today when to Darren Polden with a magnificent bag of mixed fish for a weight of 71lbs 11oz on peg 6 fishing the feeder to the island, second place went to Richard jefferies on peg 15 with 29lbs 6oz fishing a pellet waggler and 8mm pellet 3rd place was Anthony Bentley on peg 14 with 28lbs 3oz and 4th place went to Stephen Paul Sheller with 28lbs 1oz next Rod and Reel match is at Tarka on the 27.8.23. Well done Darren polden on your catch.

All too soon our summer series has come to an end.

Tonight’s final match has again produced some great nets, perfect conditions ,warm with a light westerly breeze.
Keith has fished peg 24 ,with corn hookbaits, for a terrific 40lb net of large carp for victory.
Second spot went to Darren, who’s drawn the same peg 10 on consecutive weeks , another fine net of carp also on corn and paste.
Third place goes to Craig with a great net of almost all skimmer bream on soft pellet.
Nathan’s fourth spot ensures that his consistency has retained the midweek Championship 🏆 .119 points Well done sir.

Our members enjoyed another very close match, this evening. It was the penultimate competition in the 10 match series, Keith has come out on top , from peg 18, fishing the pole to the edge of the lilly pads, fed heavily with dampened micro pellets and using a small soft pellet on the hook.
Richard has moved into joint second,in the league , paste on the pole in the weedbed on peg 15 secured second in the match.
League top three are Nathan Underwood on 115
Martin Turner and Richard Jeffries on 105.
oger Ackroy remains in fourth on 85.

The top 2 places were taken by the match organiser and assistant, only a pound separated Martin and Richard, drawn on pegs 15 and 18 they both fished groundbait paste, Martin’s net was mainly tench , Richard’s was all carp.
Keith has moved up in the league with his third place on peg 16.
2 matches remain Nathan maintains the lead.

12 Anglers fished the July Rover .Andrew Atkinson was victorious with a cracking Smoothound of 15lb 111/4ozs. Michael Hammett was second with a fine Smoothound of 11lb 2ozs and Andrew Atkinson was third with another specimen Smoothound of 10lb 7ozs.

Normal service has been resumed, Nathan has put another winning net together, this time on peg 19., again on the short pole,paste over dampened 4mm pellets.
Keith Copland ran a close second fishing sweet corn on the pole off peg 6 , Keith Mountjoy fish pellets on the pole on peg 9 for third spot.
The rain held off except for one short shower, and George’s has once again produced a good match, with 3 rounds remaining Nathan leads and Martin moves into second spot.

19 young members have turned up to fish the second event of the year, George’s lake has produced bumper
catches for our lads and lasses.
Really close results, Ted topped the field from peg 14
with a lovely net of carp all on the method feeder.
Charlie’s second spot fell to paste on the pole off peg 12 , Brodie took 3rd on peg 1.
The weights were taken on an assortment of techniques and all around the lake.
Everyone went home with a prize, a suntan and l hope, a smile.!!…

After a day of thunderstorms and heavy rain, the evening proved to be dry and slightly cooler.
Committee member, Richard, after a slow start, soon got into his stride with a number of decent carp on paste and bread in the margins of peg 15, for another convincing victory.
Kevin, on his return from holiday, drew fancied peg 25, fished his favoured paste and pole method for second spot, just pipping Martin on peg 8.
