Matt Ling made his annual visit to Jennetts reservoir in Bideford and was rewarded with four fine carp to 24lb 10oz.
Mark Brett did an overnight session at Upper Tamar lake on the Cornwall and Devon border. Three fish was his reward topped by this 24lb 4oz Common. Mark was fishing the Lookout Tower swim on the Cornwall Bank at 25 wraps distance with a Mainline Baits Clockwork Orange Boilie. The other fish were 18lb 8oz and 16lbs.

Despite a chill in the air & an easterly wind, the lake fished well on the whole. Unfortunately the bigger bream did not show, but it was roach a plenty for most.
Winner on the day was Simon Poynter who put 40lb 10oz on the scales, fishing the pole at 11mtrs on the deck and deep shallow.

Reel Deal has once again put anglers in touch with the large porbeagle shark patrolling the North Cornish Coast. Following on from the huge fish estimated at 500lb Peter Hearn hooked a shark estimated at 250lb. The shark was beaten using sponsors Penn Tackle supplied by High Street Tackle. The shark were attached to the boat using Ammon Chum mix and Ammo frozen mackerel hook baits.
A cool Easterly breeze failed to dampen the spirits of anglers aboard Wild Frontier off Ilfracombe skipper by Mark Hutchings. Their efforts were rewarded with a fine small eyed ray coming to the net closely followed by the first Tope of the season which took off like a rocket. Both fish landed by young Daniel Smith. They also boated several conger to 18lb and huss to 10lb.

Lakes, Oak and Woodpecker on the fantastic Stafford Moor complex were used for the 26 peg event, Venue specialist Paul Morris drew on peg 2 on Woodies and fished the near shelf with the pole and 8mm pellets his 30 fish catch was enough for victory over his neighbour Nathan Underwood on peg 20, who pushed him close fishing the waggler out to the boards on the island. Nathan also fished and fed 8mm’s for second spot . Tom Downing sat on peg 17 on Woodies and finished just short of the 150lbs for 3rd spot fishing the long pole into the margins. Bruce Hunt was top weight on Oak and 4th overall his 35 fish catch fell to pole fished paste on peg 13, Britney Shears was 2nd on Oak 17 and 5th overall corn on the pole tactics. Neilsen Jeffery took 6th spot on Oak 7 with a corn in the margins approach. Many thanks to Paul and Jo for their hospitality today.
DAY TICKET COMMON ALERT!!
Anglers Paradise Head Baliff Ashley Bunning aka the Teddy Bear of Anglers Paradise had a session on Day Ticket Nirvana’s Specimen Cat Lake and caught this stunning 28lb Common. Ashley caught the beauty on a Nash bait pineapple instant action pop up fished over a bed of corn, 12mm Scopex Squid boilies and hemp. There are encouraging signs along the coast with smoothound showing from regular marks a couple of weeks earlier than expected. Ian Hooper and Nick Job fished a popular local shore mark and landed several hounds to almost 7lb and Cameron Atkinson landed a good hound in Appledore Shipbuilders Competition. ( See Results Below).
Combe Martin SAC Member Mark Jones ventured out with his lure rod and was pleased to Catch and release a pleasing bass of over 4lb.
Reel Deal Skipper Dan Hawkins took a party of anglers in search of an early shark and succeeded with Ross Needs from Bristol bringing a huge porbeagle estimated at 500lb to the side of the boat after a battle lasting 2hours and 10 minutes. The fine fish was carefully unhooked and released and swam away strongly. (Below) See video on Facebook Page).
(Above) Cameron Atkinson took the top three places in Appledore Shipbuilders Monthly Rover landing a dogfish of 2lb 71/8oz for first a smoothound of 7lb 81/4oz for runner up and a dog of 2lb 6oz for third. 19 fished the competition.
