Packs of tope off Ilfracombe are the Reel Deal
Packs of tope are providing some fine sport for anglers fishing off Ilfracombe on Dan Hawkins boat Reel Deal.
Fine thin lips on LRF tackle
Ian Laird was enjoying some great sport in the Taw estuary using a baited spoon to tempt several thin lipped mullet up to 3lb 6oz. Seizing the opportunity he collected his son Ollie up from school to take him on short mullet session. An LRF outfit with 10lb b.s Spiderwire braid and size 3 customized Mepps lure resulted in Ollie landing a fine thin lip of 3lb 6oz.

Combe Martin SAC member Ross Stanway enjoyed a wrasse fishing session with his son Charlie they tempted several topped by this fine fish of 4lb 7oz. ( Below)

Smoothound are still producing good sport from marks along the coast with several good specimen tempted to just under 10lb.
Pollock and codling provide sport on the lure
Combe Martin SAC member Dan Welch enjoyed a cracking session out on his boat landing numerous pollack over 5lb the biggest 7lb 8oz even managed a couple codling to 5lb 12oz all caught on lures.
FIFTY TWO POUND TOPE ON REEL DEAL
(Above) Justin Goodhine from Bristol boated this specimen tope of 52lb whilst fishing off Ilfracombe aboard Dan Hawkins Boat “Reel Deal”.
The fish was tempted using Ammo frozen mackerel.

Ian Hooper and Nick Job enjoyed a good evening fishing for smoothound landing several of the hard fighting species to 9lb 1oz.
Taw Thin Lips on the feed!
John Shapland caught this fine thin lipped grey mullet of 4lb 1/2oz using a baited spinner in the River Taw Estuary.
(Below) Dennis Toleman targetted thin lip mullet using a baited spinner and won Triple Hook Clubs Half Year Rover with a fish of 3lb 4oz.
Big Solo tope
Kevin Pike fished from his own Private Boat to land this fine specimen tope of 47lb 8oz. The fish was boated in a fine solo effort.
